UPDATE: The suspect is described as a white male with a grey beard. He left the scene in an older  model tan Chevrolet Silverado truck with a blue Mitt Romney sticker on the back window. He was last seen heading north on Highway 231.

School Bd Recognizes Students and Staff

The Butler County Board of Education met last night at Morgantown Elementary School and spent much of a short meeting recognizing student and faculty accomplishments.  Only three members and Superintendent Scott Howard were in attendance; Amy Hood-Hooten and Charles Price.

A New Mural Comes to Morgantown

On Saturday, April 13 the community came together to create a lasting artistic impression on the City of Morgantown in the form of a mural.  Located on the side of Bratcher's Auto Parts, next to the Butler County Courthouse, the colorful mural contains elements from our county's rich history in agriculture and river trade while giving a nod to our future with technology and education.  More than 150 citizens, ages 2 to 80, joined in the painting of the mural.

Grubb Part of WKU's Concrete Canoe Team

For the second year in a row, WKU civil engineers took first place overall at the Ohio Valley Student Conference.

WKU students finished first in balsa wood bridge building, second in environmental engineering, third in steel bridge and concrete canoe and fared well in other events -- concrete horseshoes, concrete softball bat, technical presentation, surveying and AutoCAD -- at the regional competition April 4-6 in Cleveland, Ohio.

The WKU steel bridge team qualified for the national competition May 31-June 1 in Seattle.
