My name is Brandon Dockery . I am running for 1st District Constable in Butler County. I am married. My wife's name is Stephenie Dockery and we have a 4 yr. old son, Riley. I lived here in Butler County all my life. I am on Butler County Rescue Squad. I love helping out our community.

Constable Duties:  may execute warrants, summonses, subpoenas, attachments, notes, rules and orders of the court in all criminal, penal and civil cases (KRS 70.350).

The Freegal™ Music Service will allow the Butler County Public Library to increase the size and diversity of its collection by offering access to over 28,000 music labels from 85 different countries.

Join your community in the fight against cancer! The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Butler County will be held June 13th at the Butler County High School.   Relay teams will take turns walking, running or strolling around the track. Teams consist of individuals representing corporations, churches, clubs, organizations and families. During Relay For Life, team members enjoy games, food, music and camaraderie while camping out on the surrounding grounds.

Warren RECC Scholarships

Warren RECC is accepting scholarship applications for the fall 2014 and spring 2015 semesters.  The Cooperative will award seven scholarships, begining at $1,000 each, to qualifying high school seniors.  In addition, two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to other qualifying applicants.  Students must pursue post-secondary training at an accredited, degree-granting institution.  Completed applications must be postmarked or emailed no later than June 6, 2014.  For eligibility requirments or to downloaded an application, go to www.wre

Butler County Judge Executive David Fields

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session for May on Monday night, May 12th. All members were present, along with some interested visitors.

After the meeting was called to order County Attorney Dick Deye asked County Judge-Executive David Fields if the Court would have a special session before the next regular meeting in June. Fields said that a meeting could be called, and asked Deye if he needed to be added to the agenda for the Monday meeting.

Daugherty Elected Regent

Elaine Berry Daugherty was elected Regent of the Green River Chapter NSDAR at the April 2014 meeting of the Chapter.  Also elected to serve with her were: Debra Duncan, Vice Regent; Melanie Hunt, 2nd Vice Regent; Betty Brown, Chaplain; Sarah Duncan, Recording Secretary; Joyce Creager, Corresponding Secretary; Peggy Boaz, Treasurer; Christine Coleman, Registrar; Sheila Hunt, Historian; Doloris McKinney, Librarian; Rachel Coleman Givens, Curator.  The installation ceremony took place immediately.

City Council: Tennis Courts, Lifeguards, and Natcher Parkway...

Crack in the tennis courts at Charles T. Black Park.  The BCHS High School team played their season on this court.

The Morgantown City Council took on a full agenda at its regular monthly meeting Thursday night, spending much of its time discussing the tennis courts at the city park.

Butler County ATC Students Win State Competition

The Butler County Area Technology Center's Automotive Ford/AAA competition team won first place at the state competition today at KY Motor Speedway. They will represent the state of Kentucky at the National Competition this summer. Ford will fly the team to Detroit, Michigan to compete in front of Ford World Headquarters. The team consists of Danny Richmond, Logan Belcher, and instructor Randal Collins.

Body of missing elderly man found

Albert Dockery

The Ohio County Sheriff’s Department  has issued a press release informing the public that the body of Albert Dockery, of Horse Branch, has been found.

According to the OCSD, Dockery was found this morning around 11:15 a.m. after an extensive search effort that began this past Friday night.

A Golden Alert was issued for Dockery after he presumably walked away from his residence on U.S. Highway 62 East outside of Horse Branch Ky. Dockery’s family believed he was in early stage dementia.
