Butler County DAR Celebrates Flag Day

National Flag Day was celebrated on Saturday June 14th, 2014 on the courthouse lawn beginning at 10AM. The event was  presented by the Butler County Chapter National Society of Daughter of the American Revolution.

United Way of Southern Kentucky Announces $16,681 in Funding for Butler County

United Way of Southern Kentucky held a morning news conference on the Butler County Courthouse lawn to announce 2014 funding for critical issues affecting Butler County.  $16,681 will be distributed through United Way of Southern Kentucky to help improve the lives of individuals, families and the elderly living in Butler County.

School Bd: New Principals, AdvancED Accredition, and Construction Projects

The Butler County Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Butler County Education Complex. Board members Amy Hood, Delbert Johnson, and Debbie Hammers were present.  Superintendent Scott Howard announced two new principals in the district.  Josh Belcher is the new principal at North Butler Elementary and Ben Annis takes over the helm at Green River School.

Dance Academy Returns to Butler County

When Moira (Givens) Taylor was a junior at Butler County High School, she opened her own dance studio.  Dance Academy gave young girls in the Butler County area a place to learn various forms of dance and a chance to perform their newly-acquired skills in front of an audience at scheduled recitals.

Butler County Food Service Summer Feeding Program

The Butler County Board of Education is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows:
