Never leave your child alone in a car.

Butler County Coroner Gerald "Marty" Jones II, and the Butler County Child Fatility Team wants to remind you to "Never leave your child alone in a car." 

Your car heats up faster than you think.  Help reduce the number of deaths from heatstroke by remembering to ACT. 

A: Avoid heatstroke related injury and death by never leaving your child alone in a car, not even for a minute.

C: Create reminders by putting something in the back of your car next to your child such as a briefcase, a purse or a cell phone that is needed at your final destination.

Medal of Honor recipient discusses leadership with Andersen Airmen

ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE, Guam -- A Medal of Honor recipient toured Andersen Air Force Base, and spoke to members of Andersen's Top Three, May 3.

Retired U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Don Jenkins, one of the 85 living Medal of Honor recipients, spoke to approximately 40 senior NCOs about his experiences as a young soldier and expressed his opinion on being a senior leader.

During his speech, Jenkins spoke about leading younger Airmen, and their tendencies to change and grow, especially during war.

Fiscal Court: Sealed Bids and Road Concerns

June 10th was the second Monday of the month, meaning the Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session. Judge-Executive David Fields and all magistrates were in attendance, along with several visitors and county officials.

First the squires made payments to several entities for the $100-Mile Litter Abatement Program. Receiving payments were; Methodist Men’s Group-$600, Morgantown Community Church Mission Team-$708, Reedyville Masonic Lodge-$687, Butler County FFA-$700, and the Butler County Quarterback Club-$600.

Two year-old in critical condition after swallowing meth ingredients.

A two year-old Ohio County girl is in critical condition after swallowing ingredients used to manufacture meth and the mother and her boyfriend have been arrested.

Early on Saturday morning, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD) received information from the Owensboro Regional Health System they were treating a two year-old with severe chemical burns to her lips, mouth, tongue, and esophagus.

1st Annual Car Cruise In Janice White Benefit at Chad's Body Shop and Wrecker Service

This past saturday Chad's Body Shop & Wrecker Service held its first annual Car Cruise In for a benefit for local resident Janice White who has stage 4 cancer.  It was a great turn out with over 40 cars, trucks and bikes. Food provided by Cancer Assistance and lots of activities for kids made it a great atmosphere for all ages! Over $1600 was raised for Janice White. The main sponsor Holley Performance sponsored 3 carbuerators and many other prizes to help the benefit.
