Morgantown, KY – The City of Morgantown is proud to announce that 56 young adults from Butler County, ranging in age from 16 to college graduates, have been hired to work in various roles within city government this summer. These positions span departments such as parks, maintenance, office administration, and community programming.

MORGANTOWN---The Morgantown community gathered on a Misty rainy day to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Riverside Artisan and Farmer’s Trade (RAFT) Pavilion, marking the grand opening of the Morgantown Farmer’s Market season on May 3rd. The event drew a large crowd, including city and county officials, local vendors, and enthusiastic shoppers.

This week, Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) hosted two events to celebrate and honor the winners of both the 2024 Congressional App Challenge and the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. Both events were held on the campus of Barren County High School. 

Butler County Area Technology Center (ATC) has achieved an impressive milestone, ranking 6th among all statewide ATC centers in Kentucky with a remarkable 91.09% Accountability Score. This recognition highlights the center's commitment to preparing students for success in a rapidly growing economic landscape.

Morgantown Bank & Trust hosted a reception at the Data Center to honor the exceptional achievements of four scholarship recipients. These students were selected based on their outstanding academic performance, community involvement, and leadership qualities.

Gas prices are five cents higher in West Central Kentucky this week at $2.708 per gallon, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.
