Agriculture committee hears about curtailing farmland loss

FRANKFORT, Ky. (June 5, 2025) — Kentucky is known for its rich and vital farmland, but members of the Interim Joint Committee on Agriculture heard testimony Thursday about how much is being lost and efforts to prevent the trend.

BC NSDAR Honors Veterans on Memorial Day

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” This verse from the book of John adorned the front of the program for the Butler County NDSAR Memorial Day event, held on Monday on the Butler County Courthouse lawn. It was a fitting sentiment as the speakers at the days’ event all included acknowledgement and gratitude for the sacrifice of those men and women that have served or are currently serving in the US Military.

Stolen property located, arrests made

Two individuals have been apprehended and are now lodged in Butler County Jail after an investigation by the Butler County Sheriff's Department.

Deputy Talon Gary started his investigation after responding to a burglary at the 1980 McKendree Chapel Road residence on May 21. The owners are still determining the full extent of the stolen items, which include jewelry, a racing go-cart, semi-batteries, and miscellaneous items.
