The BCHS Class of 2025 will start the new beginning of an old tradition with the reinstatement of a Baccalaureate Service.
At Butler County High School, these services were held regularly until the 1990s, when they were phased out due to concerns surrounding the separation of church and state. Now, community members like Kaitlin Harrison are working to revive this meaningful tradition for future generations.
The new version of the Baccalaureate Service is non-denominational, not affiliated with any specific religious group or the school district, and is entirely organized by the community. Its purpose is to support and celebrate Butler County’s graduating seniors in a respectful, spiritual context. The event is open and inclusive to all, regardless of religious background or beliefs.
Join us for this special occasion on Sunday, May 18th at Belmont General Baptist Church. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the service will begin at 7 p.m. A reception with light refreshments will follow. We warmly invite everyone to attend and celebrate our seniors together.
