Ribbon Cutting @ The Pasta House

The Morgantown -Butler County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting on December 8th at the Pasta House.

 

Owners Rob and Tammy Zlater welcomed everyone with a table of desserts and giveaways.  Their winter hours are Monday-closed, Tuesday and Wednesday 7 am-8 pm, Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday and Saturday 7am-8pm and Sunday 7am-5pm.

Kim Phelps Named Senior Director of Communications & Public Relations

Warren RECC is pleased to announce that Kim Phelps has been named Senior Director of Communications and Public Relations.
Kim earned a bachelor's degree in English from Boston University in 1995 and a master's degree in business from the University of Louisville in 1999.  She spent 13 years working in the Kentucky General Assembly before returning to her hometown where she most recently spent four years as Vice President of Communications and Public Policy at the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce.
Kim and her husband Eric have two daughters and live in Bowling Green.

Clerk, Sheriff budgets presented; work continues on community development center

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, November 27th at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Johnny Tuck, Chad Tyree, David Whittinghill, and Bobby Moore.
Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson presented her 2018 Budget Estimate and Annual Order setting the maximum amount for deputies and assistants.

Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce releases November Jobs Report

There are currently 6,441 open positions in the 10-county region and 5,514 unemployed. Going out 50 miles from our region, the number of open positions, jumps to more than 53,000. South Central Kentucky’s businesses are suffering. Over the past five years, we have worked diligently to ensure a fully functioning, high performing public workforce system is available to serve their needs.

Louisville, KY (December 4, 2017) – Butler County Farm Bureau was recognized during the 98th Kentucky Farm Bureau (KFB) annual meeting in Louisville for its outstanding membership and program achievement in 2017.

Statement from Kentucky House Speaker Pro Tempore David Osborne Concerning Investigation

FRANKFORT, Ky. (December 1, 2017) – Based on the report received today from Middleton Reutlinger, we are sending this investigation to the Legislative Ethics Commission. While most people were cooperative to varying degrees, one current and one former staff member refused to speak with our attorneys. Further, there is at least one document that our investigators could not obtain that is crucial to this investigation.

Magistrates approve $19,500 contract with SOKY Jobs; bids on Senior Center rejected

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on November 13 at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Johnny Tuck, Chad Tyree, David Whittinghill, and Bobby Moore.
The court accepted the SOKY Jobs proposal for $19,500, giving Judge-Exeutive David Fields the authority to sign the contract.

KY First State to Offer License Plate Supporting Alzheimer's Association

Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson shows the specialty plate.

Louisville, Ky. NOVEMBER 20, 2017—Specialty license plates supporting the Alzheimer’s Association are now available in Kentucky. Kentucky is the first state in the US to have this specialty license plate for Alzheimer’s awareness and education. Having these plates will raise awareness of the disease, which will become more prevalent as Kentucky's population ages. Nearly 70,000 people in Kentucky right now have Alzheimer's disease and that number is only growing.
