Butler honored as KFB's "Top County" in 2017; receives Young Farmer, Women's Gold Star Awards

Leaders of Butler County Farm Bureau accept the "Top County" award from David S. Beck, KFB Executive Vice President, and John Sparrow, KFB Insurance Companies Chief Executive Officer.

 

Louisville, KY (December 1, 2017) – Recognized for its outstanding programming and for having a positive impact on both the community and its membership, Butler and Mercer County Farm Bureaus were honored as Kentucky Farm Bureau’s (KFB) “Top County” in 2017. This is the first time there has been a tie for the award.

Volunteer leaders from Butler and Mercer Counties received the award at a recognition breakfast held this morning during the 98th KFB annual meeting at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville.

The “Top County” announcement headlined more than 70 membership program and insurance honors presented during an awards breakfast this morning. Butler County, which has 2,032 members and a variety of successful service programs, was also honored as the most outstanding in the membership category for counties with 2,600 or fewer members. Mercer County (3,480 members) received recognition among the counties with 2,601 to 4,200 members, and Hardin County (13,522 members) won top honors among counties with more than 4,200 members.

Butler County Farm Bureau receives 2017 Young Farmer Gold Star Award of Excellence

Louisville, KY (December 1, 2017) – Recognized for the achievements of its Young Farm Program this year, Butler County Farm Bureau received the 2017 Gold Star Award of Excellence during Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Louisville. The award honors a county’s Young Farmer Committee for its active participation in Farm Bureau leadership development programs, state competitions, and educational or promotional initiatives.

 Joe Kirby, Young Farmer Chair for Butler County Farm Bureau, and Greg Drake, of Butler County Farm Bureau, accept the Gold Star Award of Excellence from Mark Haney, Kentucky Farm Bureau President and David S. Beck, Kentucky Farm Bureau Executive Vice President. The award was presented during a December 1 recognition program at the 98th Kentucky Farm Bureau annual meeting.

Louisville, KY (December 1, 2017) – Recognized for the achievements of its women’s program this year, Butler County Farm Bureau received the 2017 Gold Star Award of Excellence during Kentucky Farm Bureau’s annual meeting in Louisville. The award honors county Women’s Committees for active participation in leadership development programs, agricultural promotion, educational initiatives and numerous other aspects of support to the local Farm Bureau.

 Rita Drake of the Butler County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and her granddaughter Maggie Drake, accept the 2017 Gold Star Award of Excellence from Vicki Bryant, chair of the Kentucky Farm Bureau state Women’s Committee. The award was presented during a December 1 recognition program at the 98th Kentucky Farm Bureau annual meeting.
