Senator C. B. Embry Jr. Legislative Update

As State Senator, I take pride in staying engaged with the 6th District. Community engagement as an elected official usually occurs by speaking face-to-face during meetings or community events. However, since COVID-19, I find myself feeling removed from interaction with everyone. Man arrested in stabbing incident in south Butler County

Local law enforcement officers and EMS responded last night to an alleged stabbing incident at a residence in south Butler County (79 Corey Lane). Michael James Boone Mouser (DOB 2-27-02) was arrested and charged with attempted murder, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of a controlled substance (first degree, first offense, methamphetamine). The victim, Shane Smith, was listed as critical shortly after the incident.

Locke appointed to Morgantown City Council

Newly-appointed Morgantown City Council member Bryan Locke

By a 3-2 vote, Bryan Locke has been appointed to the Morgantown City Council.  The decision was made at Thursday night’s (Jan. 14) council meeting.  Locke replaces former council member Sterling White, who resigned effective December 31, 2020.

KY GENERAL ASSEMBLY: Lawmakers OK change to judicial venues

FRANKFORT – The General Assembly has passed a measure that would allow Kentuckians to file lawsuits against state government in the county of their residence, a move that would diminish the longstanding role Franklin Circuit Court has played in deciding those types of cases.
