Deputy Barks provided the following description of the incident and his interaction with both the suspect and victim:

"The vehicle was coming from the direction of the call and was stopped immediately. The listed suspect was operating the vehicle, which also had the victim in the passenger seat. The listed suspect stated that he needed an ambulance for the victim. I then proceeded to the passenger side and began assisting the victim. The victim stated that the driver/listed suspect had stabbed him during a physical altercation that had taken place at the listed address. The listed suspect was immediately detained and secured into my vehicle. The listed suspect had a knife in his boot. A small clear bag of suspected Methamphetamine was located on the ground near the driver's side front tire, which was determined that the listed suspect had tossed to prevent its use as evidence against him. The listed suspect was advised of his Miranda rights, stated he understood and agreed to make a statement. The listed suspect admitted to stabbing the victim multiple times in self-defense after a physical altercation had ensued. The suspect was not helpful in locating the weapon used during the incident. Suspect invoked his rights to an attorney and questioning was ceased at this time. Listed suspect had blood on his pants and arms, along with some wounds to his face, which were photographed. At the time of this report, the victim was listed as critical with declining vitals."

The investigation is ongoing.
