Tiffany Hampton: Life in Logansport

While visiting the city park this weekend, I was rather disturbed by the language I was hearing from some of the children.  The park should be a fun, family environment for all ages.  I understand we all have free will to speak however we choose. But, there is this thing called respect that seems to be lacking in today's society.

Have you ever had one of this moments where it seems that time stands still for you?  Not really in a bad way, but in a very special way.  For instance, you catch a glimpse of your child playing in the other room, or you see your spouse putting their whole heart into a project.

Over the weekend I made a grocery trip.  The difference on this trip was that my husband went with me. Usually it's me and Tucker, but this time both the kids stayed with their aunt. So, it was just me and the hubby. No list was prepared, which meant over spending was very probable!

How many times have you ever been watching a movie, a show or a ballgame, and tried talking to the person/persons inside the television?  I can remember watching soap operas and sitcoms with my grandma, and she would try telling them what to do, or what to say.  My dad always told the basketball players, coaches, and refs what they should have been doing.  We all do this, and probably give those around us a good laugh, or maybe a headache.

If you're a woman, then you know what it's like to "just have a feeling."  Our husbands and our children most likely think we are crazy when we say this.  We have all heard the term "mother's intuition."  I believe God gives women an extra sense.  A sense that throws a red flag in our hearts, not just our mind.

Every woman knows how frustrating hormones can be! I would say that it's fair to also say that every man knows this as well. The routine of hormones may go something like this. We are happy, then we are mad, then we are sad because we got mad . . . sound familiar?

Its very interesting how so many things in life come around full circle. Most of all, I think that our relationships happen this way. For instance, the parent/child relationship. Both sides of that relationship will come full circle.

Earlier this week, my 3 year old son looked at me and said "I love you momma, you're the best!" That was the absolute highlight of my day. It very well may have been my favorite "mommy moment". All of which lead me to ponder this: If I were asked to tell my most favorite moment as a mom, what would it be?

I'm sitting in my living room right now.  I have the luxury of a live baseball game happening in front of me. Mac is the pitcher and Tucker is up to bat. Of course I'm not crazy! The ball is a plastic, like the ones in a ball pit. The bat is none other than a drumstick!

Many objects mimic the role of what should be the real things at our house. I've seen socks rolled into a ball,  shoes on hands turn you into a big bad wolf, pillows and blankets become forts, and the stairs become a slide. These are just a few of the ideas that my three year old can come up with.
