Morgantown resident Timmy Keown’s 1957 Chevrolet Sedan is a cousin to the Black Widow car. The one fifty, or 150 is not the usual 1957 Chevy Belair that you see. The 150 is a special model that General Motors made especially for Police departments, Taxi Companies and Delivery Companies.

On Father's Day, one vital part of the celebration for five-year-old Charlie Leffler was missing. His dad, former NASCAR regular Jason Leffler, wasn't there. He was killed last Wednesday night racing on a .60 mile dirt track in New Jersey. Jason Leffler was 37.

On June 13 the Morgantown Butler County Swim Team hosted the first meet of the season of the South Western Swim Team Association. The meet was a relay meet that 4 teams of the SWSTA attended: MBCST; Glasgow YMCA; Scottsville Seadragons; and Portland Swim Team.

Four members of the Morgantown-Butler County Swim Team attended the Kentucky Bluegrass State Games on June 15th and 16th in Lexington. Bluegrass State Games is a member of the National Congress of State Games which is a member of the United States Olympic Committee.

Jeff Garrett of Logansport won a coveted NHRA Wally at the 27th annual NHRA Sportsnational Open at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green over Memorial Day weekend. Garrett drove his 1980 Malibu to victory in the Super Pro division which featured 100 drivers racing for the Wally.
