On Thursday July 10th the Morgantown Butler County Swim Team hosted the Scottsville Seadragon in a dual meet at the Morgantown City Pool.
The meet was a very exciting meet with several close races some of which came down to 2/10 of a second.

The Green River Catfish Festival Dog Show had a wide variety of dogs this year, from the smallest to the very large. All the pet owners were showing off their fur babies with pride. Winners this year were:

Butler County Softball senior catcher Amy Rogers was recently selected Class 2A Second Team All-State for her softball accomplishments during the 2014 season.

The Barracudas host their annual Relay Meet on Tuesday with great success. In attendance at the meet were the Portland Stingrays and the Ohio County Otters. The meet started at 5:30 and the last race finished at 7:30 just before the storm hit.

Provo native, Boyd Truelove is the 2014 inductee into the Kentucky Trapshooting Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place on July 4th as part of the annual Kentucky State Shoot at the Central Kentucky Gun Club near Berea.
It was camp time at Butler County High School as Coach Calvin Dockery and the boys' basketball team held its annual skills camp. About 30 campers in grades 4-8 took part last week (9 a.m.

The first event of the 34th Annual Green River Catfish Festival was the Green River 5 Mile Road Race from Morgantown to Woodbury on Saturday, June 21st. This year there were 7 walkers and 67 runners.

On Tuesday, June 17th the Morgantown-Butler County Swim Team traveled to Bowling Green where they competed against the Southland Sharks and Portland Swim Team for the first meet of the season. The MBCST which has a total of 47 swimmers had 33 of them attend the meet.
When Butler County sports get back into action in the late summer there will be two new faces stalking the sidelines as head coaches. Brian Bivens has been hired as the new BCHS girls basketball coach, and JR Bryant will be the new head football coach at Butler County Middle School.
