Former BCHS softball standout CheyAnne Gaskey has etched her name into the record books at her new school. Gaskey set the Murray State University single game strikeouts record when she fanned 14 batters on Sunday in the Arkansas Invitational Tournament.

The Butler County Bears won the 12th District Basketball tournament on Friday night at Whitesville Trinity, defeating the Grayson County Cougars 60-59. Thus started the discussion of when was the last time Butler County won the district tournament? Some has said 1963 others said 1961.

Butler County cruised past Whitesville Trinity 75-49 on Tuesday night in the first round of the 12th District Tournament. The Bears (19-11 overall, 14-3 in the region and 7-0 in the district) will face Grayson County tonight (Friday) at 6 p.m.
