Firefighters were called to 622 Old Provo Road shortly after 9:00p.m. Friday night.  The home of Milton and Carolyn Wilson was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The home was a total loss.  Firefighters from Morgantown, Rochester and 2nd District responded to the scene.

Exactly twenty years ago this month, then Judge Executive David Martin and program director Billie Clark traveled to Tatsurahama, Japan to officially sign a Sister City agreement, beginning a cultural partnership based on the foundation of our economic relationship (Sumitomo).

Butler County High School juniors taking the ACT college-entrance exam during the 2011-12 school year showed improvement from the previous year. 43.5% of the students met CPE benchmark standards in English, 25.4% met the benchmark in Mathematics, and 37% met the benchmark in Reading.

Second District Magistrate Johnny Tuck

The Butler County Fiscal Court met briefly on Wednesday afternoon to act on some items of business that couldn’t be postponed until the next regular meeting. Magistrate Keith Daugherty was absent from the meeting.

The Butler County Grand Jury returned indictments against 20 individuals on August 14, 2012. Charges include murder, rape, theft, assault, unlawful transaction with a minor, and drugs.  The arraignment date for all individuals listed below is October 2, 2012, at 10:00a.m.
