On Saturday evening just prior to 8:00pm a natural gas leak occurred on Highway 231 in Morgantown. The road was briefly closed and Sonic was shut down.  According to Randall Gaskey, Superintendent of Morgantown Utilities, Chad Johnson ruptured a 2” gas line on his property.

A domestic dispute over a truck has resulted in the discovery of a stolen 10' trailer and two Henry rifles at a Butler County residence. Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Reneer located the stolen trailer last night at 10366 Bowling Green Road while investigating a stolen truck.

Strong storms with high winds, heavy rain, and powerful lightning swept through Butler County and much of the surrounding region yesterday afternoon causing widespread damage.  The first thunderstorm watches and warnings were issued for Butler County shortly after 5 p.m.

Vandals struck Fairview Community Health Center, better known as Dr. Douglas', in the overnight hours. According to police, two windows were broken when two objects were thrown at the windows. The clinic has boarded up the windows until repairs can be made. Police have no leads at this time.

Butler County Middle School has a new assistant principal.  BCMS Principal Robert Tuck announced last week that Tim D. Freeman has been named assistant principal at the school.  Freeman is actually replacing Tuck, who was hired earlier this summer as the school's new principal.
