Tiffany Hampton: Life in Logansport

Tiffany Hampton and husband Mark.

It's been awhile since I have written an article. August of last year I had my second son. With that said, my life has been busy, fun, and extremely blessed. With any new change, we have to sometimes rearrange our time, our routine, and usually our sleep pattern when there is a baby involved. I'm excited to get back to my article! I hope each reader enjoys these thoughts that I feel blessed to share.

Have you ever had or seen a baby fight their sleep? If so, then you understand how frustrating and exhausting it can be...for them and you.

Shoplifting A Bible By: Jarrod Jacobs

It came to my attention a while back that the most shoplifted book in the world is the Bible! Whether this is true or an “urban myth,” just think of the irony of a Bible being stolen!

It is ironic because there are many Bible passages which tell us not to steal (Ex. 20:15; Lev. 19:11, 13; Deut. 5:19; Eph. 4:28). Imagine someone stealing something that plainly states, “don’t steal.” Too, we are told in this same book that someone who is guilty of stealing will be lost in Hell (I Cor. 6:10)!

Andy Sullivan: Against The Grain

Since March Madness is upon us, I felt it appropriate to delve into tournament talk.  Conference tournaments are like the undercard to the main event.  In this case, however, the conference tournaments may determine who gets to go to the big show. There has always been argument as to whether or not conference tournaments are important. They may not seem awfully important if you’re already assured a tournament berth.  If you’re not in, they’re very important.  What are the origins of different tournaments?

Are you ready to spring forward? In many ways, we live by the clock. And, we often complain about time – for one reason or another.

Don Locke: Lookin Thru Bifocals

May I again share with you some of my thoughts at random?  After all, when you think of it, our thoughts are the only things we'll ever own.  But I've said that.---Someone said that no one has fully investigated the effect of clothes on man's behavior.  Well now, if it's talking about a clinical study or survey, resulting in a bunch of statistics, maybe not.  But I recall when I got my first pair of blue jeans, with the button down, tan pocket flaps all way 'round, I felt about six-feet tall..maybe seven.

Cheryl Hughes: Mama Carolyn

My Career As A Woman

When my daughter, Natalie, went back to school, she started looking for someone to keep her daughter, Sabria, a couple of days a week.  Natalie was like I was when she and Nikki were little and I started back to school, worried to death about finding someone she could trust.
“What you need is a Mama Carolyn,” I told Nat.
“I know,” Natalie said, “But there aren’t any more.”

Where Is Jesus? By: Jarrod Jacobs

Do we remember the hype and excitement of December 25, 2012? After Thanksgiving Day 2012, we saw numerous billboards, TV and radio ads, etc., which reminded us to remember the “reason for the season.” Yet, beginning December 26th and to this present time, it has been very hard for me to find any type of display reminding me of the One who seemed so important to folks for the majority of December. What happened to Jesus?

Legislative Update By C.B Embry, Jr

Every year members of the Kentucky General Assembly descend on Frankfort to carry out the duties that our citizens expect to do.  That expectation includes making sure that the legislative process is open and transparent to all Kentuckians.

Sunflower Sister

Sunflower Sister is about my family’s experience transitioning from a diet of packaged, preservative filled food to a ‘back to basics’,  local and preservative free lifestyle.

I want to share this journey with you - as imperfect as it will be.

Against The Grain by: Andy Sullivan

Having just come off the Daytona 500, I figured I’d give a little history.  The 500 was christened “The Great American Race” by broadcaster Ken Squier.  That much I knew.  There were several things I wondered about, however.  You might be surprised by some of my findings.
