BITS AND PIECES. I love em' bettern' a Baptist preacher loves a long-range planning program.  Here are some:
When I was in junior high school, and clear on in to high school, in English classes we stared learning how "COMBOBULATE"  discombobulated sentences.  Trips to the blackboard and miles and miles of diagramming sentence structure accomplish this.  This was to keep us from saying, "Go throw the cow over fence some hay."  We used to call them misplaced modifiers and/or out of placed prepositional phrases, goodness knows what they are called now.

Cheryl Hughes: Simple Celebration

There are days when I long for simpler times.  I’m aware of the train of thought that goes something like, “The good old days weren’t really so good; people tend to romanticize those days because they’ve forgotten just how hard life really was back then.”  I want to go on record as one person who didn’t forget.  You don’t forget busting up coal with a sledge hammer when you’re twelve, so your family can have heat for the winter; and you don’t forget living without indoor plumbing and heating water that you poured into a metal wash tub, so you could take a bath; and you surely don’t forget l

A Lack Of Information Or Application? By: Jarrod Jacobs

The Bible is a unique book, to be sure. While it is not a science book, it is scientifically accurate. Though it is not a geography book, it is geographically accurate. It is historically true, and is obviously a spiritually-focused book. Within the pages of inspiration, we learn that God has given us “all things that pertain to life and godliness” (II Pet. 1:3). The inspired Scriptures are “profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work” (II Tim. 3:16-17).

Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

Watching our winter weather has led me to think about seasonal changes. We – much like plants and animals – are affected by the seasons. Many of us may prefer one type of weather more than another.

On the downside of 79 sometimes the passing parade seems only a short glimpse of yesterday… then I look in the mirror and see a face like a barn door;  that’s early in the morning---it improves some up in the day… some. But it‘s a dang-sight better than the alternative… Pall and Curtains.

Cheryl Hughes: Brain Food

My Career As A Woman

I’m sure there must have been countless studies conducted on the age at which a person develops his or her tastes for different foods.  I’m not aware of the age consensus, but for me, it was before the age of five.  I know this, because I was put in the unique position of having been raised by a grandmother until that age then having been separated from that same grandmother for sixteen years.  The first time I (as an adult) went with my grandmother to the grocery store, I could have done the shopping for her—without a list.  Everything she put into that shopping cart were items I, myself,

Jarrod Jacobs: Does It Matter What We Believe?

Many today ask this question in reference to religious matters. Depending upon who we ask, some will say that it does not matter what we believe so long as we are honest and sincere about religious issues. Others will say that what we believe matters, religiously. Which answer is correct? Let us look to the Bible and see whether or not what I believe “matters”.

Against The Grain by: Andy Sullivan

Saturday January 19th, I went to Poppy’s Dinky Donuts, located at 1379 North Main Street, Beaver Dam, KY 42320 in the Village Shopping Center, between the Village Barber Shop and Purdue Office.  Dinky’s is locally owned by Kathy and Larry Hayse, the “young-ins, in-laws, out-laws and all their grandchildren”.  They opened for their first day of business on Friday January 18th.

Men if you are contemplating plighting your troth, and bestowing all your worldly goods, including your autographed picture of Roy Acuff, to a young lady, or even an old one if you’ve never plighted before, here are some things the preacher won’t have time to tell you.  It would take too long:
-    First off, concerning intimacy, A MAN IS MECHANICAL. A WOMAN IS A ROMANICAL. Cogitate on that and learn it good.
