Tiffany Hampton: Life in Logansport

Tiffany Hampton and husband Mark.

It's been awhile since I have written an article. August of last year I had my second son. With that said, my life has been busy, fun, and extremely blessed. With any new change, we have to sometimes rearrange our time, our routine, and usually our sleep pattern when there is a baby involved. I'm excited to get back to my article! I hope each reader enjoys these thoughts that I feel blessed to share.

Have you ever had or seen a baby fight their sleep? If so, then you understand how frustrating and exhausting it can be...for them and you.

Our 6-month old son falls into this category most days. Not every time, but usually once a day he will fight his sleep so bad. After 20 or 30 minutes of trying to snuggle him and rock him, I'm at a loss how to make it better for him. Sometimes I just lay him down and let him cry for a bit. Usually after a few minutes of him crying and fussing, he realizes that he's not going to accomplish it on his own. Once I have him back up in my arms, he seems to accept my help and relaxes. Within minutes he is peaceful and asleep.

This is a great reflection, in my opinion, of how the Lord is with us. He is there to guide us.  He will even carry us through the trials that seem to hard to make it through.  We know these truths, but still fight giving it up to God and relaxing.  Just as my son finally gives it up and goes to sleep, God wants us to give up our burdens, sins, worries, habits, addictions, guilt, fears....etc. That's when He wants to have us in His arms so that we may have peace.

Till next time....God Bless.
