Daniel Leroy Saunders

Daniel Leroy Saunders, 72, of Greenville, Ky. passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born in Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 28, 1946 to the late Calbert and Moreen Coots Saunders. Daniel was a Baptist preacher for 25 years and a truck driver. He loved to golf and go camping. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers Tommy, Jimmy and Bobby Saunders and sister Sandy Colter.

Tony S. Russ

Tony Sherwood Russ, 81 of Cheifland, Florida passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019. 

Mr. Russ was born on June 6, 1937 to the late John and Anna Russ in Southhill, Kentucky. He served 4 years in the United States Navy. He worked construction and was a clerk at ABC Liquors. He moved to Chiefland from Silver Springs in 2002.  Mr. Russ enjoyed gardening, fishing, and doing crossword puzzles. He was a member of VFW and Eagles. Mr. Russ was a Protestant.

James L. Martin, 74, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. He was born in Williamsburg, Ky. on February 17, 1945 to the late Leonard Tobe Martin and Norma Jones Scheer. James was a U.S. Army Ranger, Green Beret and member of the Special Forces with the 101st Airborne Division and the 82nd Airborne Division and served in Vietnam. He was a member of North Lake Presbyterian Church in Lady Lake, Fl. and he loved to golf. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Christopher House.

Willye Farris Dye Walker, 86, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford with her family by her side. She was born September 21, 1932 in Ohio County to the late Bradley Sutton and Lula Mae Whitehouse Sutton. Ms. Walker was a caretaker and member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Kenneth R. "Kenny" Miller, 64, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. Kenny was born August 13, 1954 in Butler Co. KY to the late Millard Newton and Magdeline Ward Miller. Kenny retired from DTSA, was a former member of Butler Co. Jaycee's, 2nd District Fire Department, Butler Co. Rescue Squad and Butler Co. Bassmasters. Kenny loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, was an avid U.K. basketball fan and loved spending time with family, especially his granddaughters.

Greg Gill

Greg Gill, 58, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. He was born in Muhlenburg Co., Ky. on April 12, 1961 to the late Charlie and Mary Lou Webster Gill. Greg was a logger and a member of Nelson Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and was a vendor at the Greenville Flea Market. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Beverly Dean Shoopman

Beverly Dean Shoopman, 71, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Beaver Dam Nursing & Rehab. She was born September 29, 1947 in Ohio County to the late Cecil L. Fulton and Frances Lee Fulton. Mrs. Shoopman retired from Perdue Farms and had previously been employed by Thomas Industries. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Aside from her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Shoopman.

Elwood E. Baker

Elwood E. Baker, 68, of Leitchfield, Ky. passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Waynesboro, Pa. on March 21, 1951 to the late Merle Baker and Theresa Marisco-Baker. Elwood was an antique dealer and refinished furniture. He was very family oriented and loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son Elwood Baker Jr.
Elwood is survived by his wife of 46 years Kathy Rouzer Baker; children Michael Baker (Dawn) and Erik Baker (Tanya); daughter Danielle Mentzer; four granddaughters Katie, Allie, Jenna and Jessie Baker.

Robert Young Sr.

Robert Young Sr., 71, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Robert was born July 5, 1947 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William A. Young and Novilla Young Dillingham. He was a member of Mt Lebanon Church of Christ and a retired carpenter. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one son James William Thomas Young and several brothers. He was a United States Army Veteran.
