William A. “Buddy” Daugherty, 76, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Hartford. He was born July 29, 1944 in Oak Ridge, Kentucky to the late William Stoy and Gladys Pearl Burden Daugherty. Buddy was retired from Perdue. He refereed Jr. Pro Basketball and umpired softball and baseball for 35 years. He was an avid UK and St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella Daugherty and three siblings, Wayne Daugherty, Connie Daugherty, and Faye Aldridge.

He leaves behind to treasure many memories his son, Junior Daugherty of Owensboro; 3 grandchildren, Vieaha Daugherty, Lennox Blu Daugherty and Aubree Grace Ann; 3 great-grandchildren, Kysen, Ariah and Harlem and 5 siblings, Marion (Linda) Daugherty, Charles Daugherty, Beulah Condit, Kitty (DJ) Johnson and Kathy (Ed) Kitka.

Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Friday, March 5, 2021 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Rev. Bruce Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Friends may visit with Buddy’s family from 10 AM Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
