Morgantown Care & Rehab plans "Jail-A-Thon"

It’s that time again. Morgantown Care & Rehabilitation Center - Relay for Life Committee - is scheduling a Jail-A-Thon with all monies collected going to the American Cancer Society. This is a frightful disease that attacks all ages and all walks of life.

Keown-Drury Wedding

 

The wedding of Tabitha Lynn Keown and Jesse Thomas Drury will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Hill United Methodist Church in Lexington, Kentucky (3600 Tates Creek Road).  A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Tabitha is the daughter of Lindle and Noreta Keown.  Jesse is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Steve Drury.

A wedding shower for the couple was given on Sunday, April 15 at Leonard Oak Church.  The couple is registered at Walmart, Target, and Khol's.

The Big Blue Reunion Show

There will be a reunion show in honor of Mr. Darryl Dockery’s accomplishments throughout his teaching career of Musical Arts in Butler County on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Morgantown Community Church. McKinney recognized by United States Achievement Academy

The United States Achievement Academy announced today that Madilyn McKinney from Quality, KY has been recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a student of excellence in Social Studies.

This prestigious honor very few students can hope to attain. In fact, the Academy recognizes fewer than 10% of all American high school students.

Charley Biggs' Chicken donates supplies to MES art program

Jean and James Beattie with art teacher Melissa Rose Craven

James and Jean Beattie, owners of the soon to open Charley Biggs' Chicken, donated a locking cabinet with brushes and paints to the Morgantown Elementary School art program. The locking cabinet was something that the art progam was in need of according to art teacher Melissa Rose Craven. The Beattie's also brought along ceiling tiles from their store that MES students will decorate during art class. You can view the painted ceiling tiles inside Chalie Biggs' Chicken once they open, which is expected to be in mid-May.

Tracy Thornton, County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences, will provide training to Homemaker leaders and other interested persons on how to etch glass on Monday, April 23, 2012, 10 a.m., at the Butler County Extension Office.
