House & Brown Wedding

Neil and Lecia House would like to invite to the wedding of their daughter Valarie House to Cory Brown, son of the late Charles Brown and Donna Cox. The wedding will take place on Saturday, Sept 14 at 10:00 am at the Boogie Barn. A reception will follow.
Valarie is a 2009 graduate of BCHS and a senior at WKU and Cory is employed by Delta Faucets in Morgantown.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

Richland Baptist Church Homecoming

Sunday, September 15th will be Homecoming at Richland Baptist Church.  Morning worship service will be at 10 am, and special singing with the Johnson Family at 11 am. There will be a meal following the morning services.  Bro. Jim McDaniel and Richland Church invites everyone to join us and enjoy a great day of worship.

Heartworm Disease In Dogs

Heartworm disease is as scary as it sounds. It is a severe and potentially fatal disease caused by parasitic worms that like to live in the heart and the arteries of the lungs of many types of mammals. Heartworms are a type of roundworm and dogs of any age or breed are susceptible to infection by them.

A Super Saturday for Monticello Baptist Members

Saturday, September 7, a group from Monticello Baptist Church travelled to Bellevue Baptist Church in Owensboro for Super Saturday, a day of training and strengthening for church members.  They arrived at Bellevue a little after 9 am, in time to register, receive name tags and head to the foyer for the opening service.

Pie Supper, Provo Style

Sometimes, in order to help others, you have to pause and help yourself. Such was the case Saturday night when Provo Rural Development hosted their annual pie supper and auction. “This is our only fund raiser meant to supply funds to keep the facility funded,” said president, Tony Wilson as he took a break from greeting folks to Provo. “Our winter fund raiser helps support Rochester Fire Department and the 4-H Camp.”

Observe Yom Kippur in Bowling Green

Yom Kippur, is the most important day of the year for Jewish people throughout the world.  More Jewish people attend synagogue on this day than at any other time throughout the year. Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is a time for reflection, repentance and prayer with fasting.  It points to a time when ultimate atonement and restoration for all Israel will become a reality.

William, Morris and Joseph Hammers Reunion

The descendants of William, Morris, and Joseph are preparing to gather for the 2013 Hammers Reunion.  Come one and all to the Rochester Community Center on September 22, 2013 for a potluck meal.  We encourage any family member as well as friends of the following to join us for a day of sharing-good food, togetherness and remembering The Hammers Clan history:

Green River Chapter NSDAR Summer Activities

Peggy Boaz hosted the Green River Chapter NSDAR for the summer social.

On Saturday, June 15, 2013, Peggy Boaz was host to the Green River Chapter NSDAR for their summer social.  Following potluck lunch, Peggy gave a tour of the gardens and school. The Green River Chapter held its meeting in the school where Peggy gave the program on the history of the log school.   Several present were closely connected to the school.Twelve members, one HODAR, five guests and four C.A.R. members were present.

Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Mtg.

The Butler County Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Group will meet on Friday, September 13, 2013, 12:00 noon at the Morgantown Boys’ and Girls’ Club.  Ms. Rhonda Vaughn and Ms. Tiffany Wilson from the Butler County Drug Court will be guest speakers.  Any grandparent currently raising a grandchild is invited to attend.  Lunch is provided; call the Youth Services Center at 526-4800 to register by Thursday, September 12.  Co-sponsored by the Butler County Youth Services Center and the Barren River Area Development Aging Services.
