Holy Week Services

This week marks the Christian Celebration of Holy Week, which in Christianity is the last week of Lent and the week before Easter.

Here in Morgantown everyone is invited to attend Holy Week services daily at the Morgantown Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Services will start at NOON and promptly end at 12:30 p.m. There are 5 services this week, Monday March 30th through Friday April 2nd.

Rochester Ballpark Fundraiser

Approximately 40 were in attendance for a chili fundraiser Friday night March 27 at the Rochester Community Building.  This fundraiser was for the Rochester community ballpark.  $300 was raised at the event. 


Anyone interested in making a donation toward the Rochester Ballpark can go to Morgantown Bank & Trust.  If there are any questions, call Sue Hammers (270)934-3851 or (270) 526-0124.

Mt. Vernon Welcomes New Pastor

 

The Mt. Vernon Baptist Church congregation will welcome their new pastor and wife, Bro. Gerald and Kay Geary, on Sunday, March 29th.  Sunday School at 10:00am, Worship Service at 11:00am with lunch to follow.  The meal will also be a thank you to interim pastor and wife, Bro. Larry and Janet Orange.

The Conservation Writing and Jim Claypool Art Contest had an awards reception at the Eva Hawes Community Building on Thursday afternoon. The writing contest has been going on for 70 years, and the art contest for 40.

Morgantown Bank & Trust Easter Egg Hunt

The annual Morgantown Bank & Trust Easter Egg Hunt was held at the Charles Black City Park on Saturday, March 21, 2015. At 1pm, Darrell McKee of Morgantown Bank & Trust welcomed the guests and introduced them to the new policies adopted for the hunt this year.

North Butler Academic Team Advances to the Regionals

On February, 28th the NBES academic team traveled to Western Elementary in Centertown for their District Academic Meet.  They placed first place overall that advanced them to the Regionals.  The Regionals will be held on March21st at Longest Elementary in Muhlenberg.  The NBES Academic team members are Easton Mason, Bailey West, Graci Leach, Rylan Shumway, Taylor Miller, Carter Hawkins, Lucas Johnson, McKenna Lindsey, Nathan Clark, JohnMatthew Parrish and Delaney Daugherty.

March Gladness Raises $10,600 for Boys & Girls Club

March Gladness, Bruce White has been converted. GO CATS!!!!

March Gladness was a huge success this Saturday as Cool Springs Baptist Church raised $10,600 for the Boys & Girls Club of Butler County.  The all day event featured basketball competitions, a pancake breakfast, a silent auction, and a spaghetti dinner. This is the second year for the event, last year March Gladness raised a little of $6,000.

Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5837 presented a flag to BCMS

Jennifer Odle and Lynda Knight presents BCMS Principal Robert Tuck with a new flag.

On Tuesday President Lynda Knight And Americanism Chairman Jennifer Odle of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5837 presented a new flag to  Butler County Middle School. The auxiliary will àlways try to help our schools with the donation of new flags when the old ones are tattered. If your flag is faded or torn please take it down and retire it in the respectful manner.
