A household shower Emily Burden and Wes Gentry will be given on May 2nd, at Butler County Middle School Library. Shower starts at 2:00 p.m. All friends and family are invited to attend. The couple is registered at Macy’s, Rice Drugs, and Target.
The Butler County Family Resource Center hosted “Books and Breakfast” for 1st grade students and their parents at North Butler Elementary and Morgantown Elementary.
Parents were invited to have free breakfast with their child and to read to their classroom. Each child received a free book and each classroom received a free storybook collection. We had a great turn out this year!
“Yes Chef!” This was the cry from nearly two dozen young homeschooled students at the Good News Community Center on Thursday morning, as they prepared to learn valuable lessons in baking such as the difference between a liquid and dry measure, how to use a bench scraper, and how to follow a recipe. She also explained the basics of how yeast works and how gluten is created.
Incoming Kindergarten students and their parents were invited April 16th to North Butler Elementary to participate in the 1st annual Readiness Fair. 42 incoming kindergarten students enrolled and 76 parents showed up to prepare for the upcoming educational journey that awaits them. The Fair included informational booths (FRC, Barren River Health Department, Library Media, a guest speaker (Dr.
Butler County High School is currently accepting nominations for two parent representatives to serve a one year term on the School Based Decision Making Council. Any parent with a child attending Butler County High School during the 2015-2016 school year is eligible to run for SBDM. (SBDM representatives are required to attend a 6 hour training session for new members or a three-hour training session for any experienced member and are expected to attend monthly meetings).
First Baptist Church will be hosting a Wedding shower for Brian Fulton and Kayla Barrow, Sunday April 26 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.. It will be at Morgantown First Baptist Church. They are registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond, and Target.
Come join us at North Butler Elementary for Kindergarten Readiness Fair 2015. Open enrollment for Kindergarten will be the week of April 13-17 from the hours of 8-4:30pm. However, we hope you can make it out and enroll at the Kindergarten Readiness Fair so you can meet the teachers, principal, guest speakers while your kids have fun playing with future classmates on the bouncy obstacles and house on April 16th from 4:30 to 6:00pm.
Any child who turns 5 prior to October 1st may register for Kindergarten.
Join us on April 16 at the Morgantown Elementary School Gym for the MES Kinder Karnival. This event is for students who will begin their first year of kindergarten starting with the 2015/2016 school year. Kinder Karnival begins at 4 p.m. and last until 6 p.m.
