New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church performing Easter walkthrough Saturday

New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church is performing its lantern-lit Easter Walkthrough this Saturday, March 19th that will be open from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Several scenes from Jesus riding through Bethlehem with palm leaves being waved at him to the crucifixion and resurrection are represented.  Throughout the walkthrough, solos and duets will also be performed with some being accompanied by instruments like the mandolin.   Groups of people are sent through the walkthrough as they arrive with the duration of the experience taking about 15 minutes.

Morgantown Bank & Trust hosts annual Easter Egg Hunt

The weather was cooperative Saturday afternoon for Morgantown Bank & Trust's Annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at Charles T. Black City Park.

Stormy weather on Friday evening gave way to sunny skies Saturday, much to the delight of local children who participated in Morgantown Bank & Trust’s annual Community Easter Egg Hunt at Charles T. Black City Park. The event catered to children up to 10, as scores of eager egg hunters frantically searched the grass, plucking neon-colored eggs from the ground and placing them into their Easter baskets. The event featured special prize eggs for lucky scavengers in addition to door prizes.

    Ladies Night In @ Huntsville Baptist Church

    Huntsville Baptist Church hosted a "Ladies Night In" painting party Saturday, March 12, 2016. The ladies enjoyed watching the video "The Greatest Artist Of All Time" by Jefferson Bethke (ft. Jenny Snipstead), illustrating God's magnificence. He is the ultimate creative genius and we are all God's masterpieces. The devotional was given by Sierra Fields. Canvas creations varied, but one of the most popular was tree inspired with the verse, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing." John 15:5.

    March Gladness event raises over $15,000 for Boys and Girl Club

    Morgantown youth engaged in March Gladness Saturday at Cool Springs General Baptist Church, the first fundraiser of 2016 benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Butler Co., Inc.

    While college basketball teams embarked in the March Madness that is postseason tournament action, Morgantown youth engaged in March Gladness Saturday at Cool Springs General Baptist Church, the first fundraiser of 2016 benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Butler Co., Inc. Executive Director of the Club Bruce White said the event has returned for the fourth straight year Saturday and raised over $15,114. Aligning with the March Madness theme, much of the day's activities were basketball-centric.

    Father Involvement @North Butler Elementary

     Watch D.O.G.S Program being implemented.

    A new program known as Watch D.O.G.S is being implemented at North Butler Elementary.  Watch D.O.G.S is a one of a kind, school based father involvement program that works to support education and safety.  The program was recommended to the NBES principal by a school board members Debbie Hammers and Amy Hood.
