2017 Quality Cruise-In

The 8th annual Quality Cruise-in and Swap Meet was held Saturday, September 9, in Quality, Kentucky.  It was a beautiful Fall day, even though 80 degrees isn’t exactly fall temperature.  There was plenty of food, drink and fellowship.  Throughout the event, attendees picked up ballots and judged the competing cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors.

NBES students enjoy food from their garden.

The nutrition staff at North Butler Elementary School and Morgantown Elementary School have gone above and beyond to incorporate the yield from the school gardens into the daily lunch meal.  The ladies embraced the garden project and quickly set out to provide the kids with some new vegetable options.

Kaylin Hooten heads to State Pageant

 It all started this time last year for Kaylin. She attended AmeriFest Festivals Pageant held in Lexington KY. Kaylin competed against several little girls. After winning the title of Baby Miss Kentucky 2016 she had the chance to advance to Nationals. AmeriFest Nationals was held in the Smoky Mountains. Kaylin and her daddy Bobbie Hooten was in pageant mode and was ready to light up the stage. Miss Kaylin was very excited to win her very first National Photogenic award. Kaylin was one lucky little girl to have such a wonderful photographer Tiffany Boone of Morgantown.

Butler County Field Day 2017 at Woodbury

Thursday, September 7 was the annual Butler County Field Day.  The event was held at the Butler County Park in Woodbury.  After registration and a welcome to Woodbury by Gregory Drake, Representative Jim DeCesare provided us with a legislative update.  Next on the program was Ricardo Rivero, who spoke about the importance of "Call 8-1-1 before you dig.

Fun and festivities at the second West Ohio Street Chalk Art Festival!

“The 2017 West Ohio Street Chalk Art Festival is in the books!  This free and fun event, which was sponsored by the Butler County Arts Guild, was a repeat of the first Chalk Art Festival, which took place in 2016 at the same location on West Ohio Street.  Partnering with the Arts Guild to host this year’s event were the Butler County Public Library and the Morgantown-Butler County Tourism Commission.
