BC Softball: Continuing a Strong Season

Butler County 15     Grayson County 0

Tinslea Belcher didn't allow a single run against Grayson County, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Butler County Bears to a 15-0 victory on Tuesday.

Madison Clark went 4-for-5 at the plate. Clark homered in the first, singled in the second, homered in the third, and doubled in the fourth.

The Bears got on the board in the first inning when Clark homered on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

Butler County scored five runs in the third inning. Cheani Schroeder, Parker Willoughby, and Clark each had RBIs in the big inning.

Belcher surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Butler County racked up 18 hits in the game. Willoughby, Clark, Schroeder, and Karrington Hunt each had multiple hits. Schroeder, Clark, and Willoughby each collected four hits to lead Butler County. 

 

 

Butler County  4    Barren County 2

Seventeenth-ranked Butler County Bears stole the lead late and defeated Barren County Trojanettes 4-2 on Monday. Barren County, ranked second in the state, came into the game undefeated at 14-0. 

Barren County opened up scoring in the first inning when a sacrifice bunt by Katie Elmore scored one run for the Trojanettes.

Butler County evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Karrington Hunt hit into a fielder's choice, scoring one run.

However, Butler County trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning when three Barren County errors scored two runs for the Bears.

Avery Gleason got the win going seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits, striking out four, and walking zero.

Chloe Witcher took the loss for Barren County. She went six innings, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out 13.

Butler County had one home run on the day. Mia Thomas went yard in the sixth inning.

Tinslea Belcher and Thomas each collected one hit to lead Butler County.

  

 

Butler County 3     Russellville 2

Both teams were strong in the circle Friday, but Butler County defeated the Russellville Panthers 3-2. 

Russellville got things started in the first inning. A'miyah Collier hit a solo homer.

The Bears pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, an error scored one run for Butler County, and Addison Miller homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Tinslea Belcher got the win for Butler County. She lasted five and a third innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out three. Avery Gleason threw one and two-thirds innings in relief. 

Butler County scattered six hits in the game. Miller, Karrington Hunt, and Parker Willoughby managed multiple hits. Willoughby, Hunt, and Miller each collected two hits.

  

Butler County   5     Edmonson County  3

Butler County Bears survived a push by Edmonson County  Ladycats in the fifth inning, which scored three runs, but Butler County still won 5-3 on Thursday. The big inning for Ladycats came thanks to a home run by Julie Norris and a double by Callie Webb.

The Bears fired up the offense in the first inning and scored one run when Tinslea Belcher singled.

Avery Gleason earned the victory in the circle for Butler County. She lasted seven innings, allowing ten hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking zero.

Madison Clark hit two home runs on the day. Clark went deep in the first and fifth innings and was 2-for-3 at the plate.

 

Butler Co. 13     Ohio County  0

Butler County Softball defeated Ohio County Lady Eagles 13-0 on Tuesday. Avery Gleason didn't allow a single run throwing a complete game shutout. 

The Bears secured the victory thanks to ten runs in the first inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Karrington Hunt, MacKenzie Coleman, Parker Willoughby, and Madison Clark, a walk by Carley Jones, and an error on a ball hit by Jones.

Gleason got the win for Butler County. She went five innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out three, and walking zero.

Butler County tallied one home run on the day. Clark went for the long ball in the third inning.

The Bears totaled 13 hits. Willoughby, Mia Thomas, Clark, Addison Miller, and Tinslea Belcher each had multiple hits for Butler County. Willoughby led the team with three hits in four at-bats.
