BCHS Softball wins two games and tie one in annual round-robin

BUTLER COUNTY ROUND-ROBIN SCORES:  

Butler Co.  3     Christian Co. 2

Both teams were strong in the circle Saturday, but Butler County Bears defeated Christian County Colonels 3-2. Pitcher Avery Gleason allowed just six hits.

Gleason was the winning pitcher for the  Bears. She allowed six hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven.

Butler County racked up five hits on the day. Parker Willoughby and Gleason all collected multiple hits for the Bears. 

  

Butler Co. 4  Christian Academy 4

A single in the fourth inning helped Butler County battle to a 4-4 tie with Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions on Saturday.

Christian Academy-Louisville  Centurions scored one run in the first inning when Addison White singled.

Butler County tied the game up at four in the bottom of the fourth inning. Tinslea Belcher singled on the first pitch at bat, scoring one run.

The Bears collected six hits. Belcher and Karrington Hunt each had two hits for Butler County. The Bears tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Addison Miller led the way with two.

 

Butler County 5     Madison Southern 2

Butler County Bears defeated Madison Southern Lady Eagles 5-2 on Saturday in the Bayleigh Alford Memorial opening round.

The Bears put up three runs in the fifth inning. Karrington Hunt, MacKenzie Coleman, and Mia Thomas led the offense, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Avery Gleason earned the win for Butler County. She went six innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three.

Butler County scattered nine hits in the game. Parker Willoughby and Thomas all managed multiple hits for Butler County Varsity Bears. Thomas and Willoughby all had two hits to lead Butler County Varsity Bears.

Thursday, April 6

Butler Co. 2     Henderson Co. 13

Butler County Bears fell 13-2 to Henderson County Lady Colonels on Thursday.

In the first inning, the Lady Colonels got their offense started when Hallie McCracken doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

Butler County tied things up at one in the top of the second inning. Mia Thomas hit a solo homer.

Henderson County scored five runs in the fourth inning thanks to Anna Willett and McCracken's home runs.

Avery Gleason took the loss for Butler County. The righty allowed eight hits and nine runs over four innings, striking out three.

Carley Jones went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bears in hits.
