Jr. Pro Cheerleading

BCHS Cheerleaders are taking sign ups for Junior Pro Cheerleading for Grades 1-5.  The fee is $50.  Sign up by Monday so uniforms can be ordered.  Practice will be at MES or North Butler depending on which school your daughter attends.  Practice is on Tuesday Afternoon from 3 to 4:30.  Games are on Saturdays, beginning on Nov 3rd.  Forms will be available at the football game tonight or call 999-1432.

Little Lady Bears Basketball

The Little Lady Bears finished up their season on Saturday. The season was full of exciting games, and most importantly these young ladies increased their skill and love for the game. The season was a huge success.

"I would like to thank all the volunteers that made it possible," said Cody Donaldson.

Bears & Hornets set to tangle in Morgantown

 

It's "Pink Out Night" in Morgantown on Friday as the Butler County Bears (5-3)  play host to the visiting Hancock County Hornets (6-2) in a key district football game that will help determine seeding in the postseason.  BCHS Coach Ryan Emmick, a Hancock County native, knows the Hornets will come ready to play.    

BCMS #1 seed in middle school football playoffs; game set for Saturday at home

The Butler County Middle School 8th grade Bears football team ended the regular season a perfect 10-0, including the Green River Valley Conference Championship. This Saturday, October 20, the BCMS Bears begin play in the KMSFA (KY Middle School Football Association) State Playoffs.

The Clay Crackers

The Butler County High School Trap Team shot in the State Meet on Saturday in Barren County. The "Clay Crackers" team consists of Logan Belcher, Walker Weathers, Houston Jones, Van Daugherty, and Jared Rose. Team leader is Leeann Daugherty.

Butler Co.Cross-Country Teams Compete in Mustang Stampede

Start of the elementary boys 3k

Last Saturday the Butler County Cross-Country team traveled to Greenville to compete in the Mustang Stampede.

The field was loaded with competition to help prepare the team for regional competition in 4 weeks. For the elementary girls 3k, Reece Robbins finished 8th overall and Hannah Johnson finished 9th overall out of over 60 runners. Hailley Daniel and Samantha Henderson also had strong finishes for the team.

Butler Co. 25 Todd Co. 23

In a must win Class 2A District matchup the Todd Co./Butler Co. game provided plenty of anxious moments till the final seconds ticked off. The Bears come away with a heart stopping 25-23 win, and more important kept the postseason playoff hopes alive. The loss for Todd Co. all but eliminated the Rebels from postseason play in November.

From the Sideline Week #8

There is more than one way to get to the locker room.

Butler County Bears traveled to Elkton , Kentucky on Friday night to take on the Todd County Rebels.  It was a hard fought battle but the Bears came out on top 25-23, and picked up their first district win.  The weather turned cold, it rained a little, and the lights flickered but the faithful fans held their ground and cheered the Bears to victory.  From the Sideline gives readers a glimpse of the action off the field.  Enjoy!

BCMS Softball wraps up season with 4th place finish in state tournament

The Butler County Middle School softball team concluded its 2012 season with a fourth place finish last week in the Middle School State Tournament for Regions 1-4.  The end-of-season event was played at Buchanon Park in Bowling Green and was hosted by South Warren Middle School.

On Friday, September 28, the Bears came from behind to defeat longtime nemesis Owensboro Catholic.   Key hits by Madison Clark, Madilyn McKinney, and Olivia Jones (with the game winner) in the bottom of the fifth inning gave Butler the walk-off 3-2 victory.  Zoie Pendley earned the pitching win.

Bears, Rebels to square off at Elkton

Butler County football is hoping to get back on the winning track tomorrow night with an important district game on the road against Todd County Central.  The Bears lost a tough 49-35 decision to Union County last week, while the Rebels took it on the chin with a  51-17 shellacking at the hands of Owensboro Catholic.  The game has definite district ramifications with Butler currently sitting at 1-2 in district play and Todd at 1-1.
