Jr. Pro Basketball Wraps Up Year

North Butler's 1st and 2nd Grade Team

Another year of Jr. Pro Basketball is in the books.  1st and 2nd grade Jr. Pro finished at NBES last weekend with an awards presentation at the end of their game.

3rd through 6th grade teams finished their season with a single elimination tournament this past weekend at MES.  After several rounds of play and some good competition, the championship games were set.

The 3rd and 4th grade championship was a battle from start to finish with two Morgantown Elementary teams pitted against one another; the orange team coached by Pat Henderson and Jon Hunt and the green team coached by Elijah Flener.  The game was intense with fierce, but friendly, competition between the two teams the entire time.  The game was so tight it couldn’t be determined in regulation and was forced into overtime.  The orange team was led by the hot hand of Jagger Henderson who sank three free throws in overtime to seal the win for them with a score of 25-22.

The final game of the day was the 5th and 6th grade championship between two MES teams as well; the green team coached by Brad Dockery and the orange team coached by Brandon Dockery.  The game was a defensive battle between two good teams.  In the end, the green team came out on top with a score of 15-9.
Cody Donaldson, Jr. Pro coordinator, was pleased with this years’ competitive play and improvement shown by each player.
