MEETING: Butler County Fiscal Court

Boy Scout Troop 208

Butler County Fiscal Court met at the courthouse on Monday, October 9. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by the Boys Scouts Troop 208. All magistrates attended - Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Allen Smith, David Whittinghill and Dillon Bryant.

BC Deputy Hunstad graduates from Police Academy

Deputy Hunstad and Sheriff Scottie Ward

Butler County Sheriff Scottie Ward is pleased to announce the recent graduation of Deputy Andrew Hunstad from the Police Academy.  

Deputy Hunstad graduated on October 5 and received an Academic Award for being in the Top Three of his class.

A veteran, Hunstad served in the Army and currently serves in the Reserves. He is a graduate of Greenwood High School and lives on Brownsville Road. 

"I have always been interested in law enforcement and look forward to serving the community," said Hunstad.

Deputy Hunstad will continue working as a bailiff and patrol.

Drug Arrest in Ohio County

Detectives with Pennyrile Narcotics and the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office conducted a two-month operation.

Over the course of the two-month operation, detectives purchased and/or seized over 23 ounces of methamphetamine, ½ ounces of marijuana, 1 indoor marijuana grow, 1 outdoor marijuana grow, 1 ounce of cocaine, and recovered 1 stolen vehicle. 15 individuals total were charged/indicted as a result of the operation.
