Butler Co. ATC MNA Program Passes State Exam with 100% Pass Rate

Butler County Area Technology Center is pleased to announce they received a 100% pass rate on their Medicaid Nursing Assistant Exam. Eleven students set for their state exam on December 2nd, which consisted of a written 75 question test and a skills portion that consisted of 5 clinical skills.

Butler County Road Crew on the Ready

With Butler County getting doused by rain Wednesday night and then getting socked by snow Thursday road travel was a major concern but the County Road Department was on top of things.
Timmy West explains that “The State roads are maintained by the State, the City takes care of the town and we are the caretakers of the County roads” “We are responsible for more than four hundred miles of roads.” The County road system is mapped out into five districts with a grid system for utility purposes.

Butler County Fiscal Court Finalizes 2013

The Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday night in special session. The Court had a short agenda of items needing attention before the end of the year. Magistrate Johnny Tuck was absent from the meeting.

The squires voted 4-0 to pass the second reading of the new flood plain ordinance. Action was needed because the new flood plain needed to be adopted by January 8th.

Dr. Richard T.C. Wan retires after 48 years of service to Butler County

A crowd gathered at the BCHS Commons area on Friday night, December 27th, to pay tribute to a man that has become a community fixture since arriving in Butler County in 1966. Dr. Richard T.C. Wan will retire from his medical practice on January 1st. He has practiced medicine in Butler County for the past 48 years.

Most of Kentucky's larger cities are slowly recovering from the global economic recession that began in 2008, according to a study released Thursday by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.

Guthrie Receives Award for Protecting Seniors

The American Life Sciences Innovation Council (ALSIC) presented Congressman Guthrie with the Medicare Access Champion Award.

“I am honored to receive this award,” said Congressman Guthrie. “I know how important it is for seniors to receive the specialized care they need and am proud to do all I can to help them.”

Christmas is Time to Give Thanks, Hope for Future of Our Nation and Commonwealth

When you think of the Christmas season, what comes to mind?  Perhaps going to your child’s holiday play at their school?  Or fighting the crowds at your local mall to get the newest smart phone?

For most of us, Christmas is a time to give thanks for what we have been given in the past 12 months, and share the goodwill with family and friends to remember why we celebrate Christmas every December.  It’s also about the hope we have on Christmas and every day for the future of our nation and our Commonwealth.
