Butler County Area Technology Center is pleased to announce they received a 100% pass rate on their Medicaid Nursing Assistant Exam. Eleven students set for their state exam on December 2nd, which consisted of a written 75 question test and a skills portion that consisted of 5 clinical skills.

This course is offered each semester at the tech school through Ms. Joiners Health Sciences program. The MNA program gives students the opportunity to be a step ahead and obtain their State Registered Nursing Assistant certification while in high school.   Students who plan on majoring in nursing will gain experience and also have a Requirement for Nursing School out of the way prior to starting college. This certification allows an individual to work as a State registered nursing assistant in Long term care centers, hospitals, doctor offices and other medical facilities.  The opportunities are endless.
Each student worked very hard to pass this exam and dedicated numerous hours and effort into the class. Ms. Joiner is very proud of each and every student for their accomplishment. The MNA Program would like to thank Morgantown Care and Rehab for allowing the students to complete their clinical hours and for being so helpful.

Volunteer Nurses: Deanna Phelps, RN and Jessi Mckee, RN

The program would also like to thank Deanna Phelps, RN, DON of Colonial Center, in Bowling Green and Jessi McKee, RN, MES School Nurse, for dedicating their time to help test the students. The students would be unable to test if not for volunteer nurses such as, these amazing ladies, taking time out of their work schedule.

Big thanks to Christie Tomes for the Reception Cake
A surprise reception was organized by the parents and school faculty in celebration of the student’s achievements. Congratulations Fall MNA Class of 2013!
