Magistrates consider options for old mall building, race track operations

The Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, August 14th at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance along with several visitors.
County Attorney Richard Deye asked that the letter of clarification from the Kentucky Association of Counties concerning Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) for advertising and accepting bids he presented at the July 24th meeting be placed into the record.

Nine students from Butler County named Sen. Jeff Green Scholars

Nine 2017 graduates of Butler County High School have been named Senator Jeff Green Scholars by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA). To earn this honor, a student must have a 4.0 grade point average each year of high school and at least a 28 composite on the ACT.

Arrests made on the Green River

Emergency personnel responded to what they believed to be a domestic disturbance on the Green River Sunday night.  Upon further investigation, two people were arrested and lodged in the Butler County Jail. 

Michael White, 47 of Morgantown was charged with possession of prescription controlled substance not in original container, possession of controlled substance - 1st degree- 1st offense, and operating a boat/watercraft under the influence.

Delinquent City Tax Bills

The list of Delinquent Tax Bills can be viewed online at morgantown-ky.com for a period of no less than 30 days. The list will also be available at City Hall for inspection at 117 North Main St, Morgantown, KY 42261 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. All delinquent bills not paid in full by the date of August 31, 2017 at 4:00 pm will have liens placed on the property. After this date all taxes, liens, fines, penalties and fees must be paid before the lien will be released.
