Bids, litigation, lawn mowers and liter abatement among topics at Butler Fiscal Court meetings

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on July 24th at the Butler County Courthouse.  All magistrates were in attendance. 
County Attorney Richard "Dick" Deye shared with the court a letter of clarification from the Kentucky Association of Counties concerning Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) for advertising and accepting bids.
"We need to review this information and consider some possible changes to the wording on accepting bids for the county," said Deye.

Single Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality

Roundhill, KY (July 30, 2017)- At 5:43 PM,  Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Bowling Green responded to Region Road near KY 70 in Butler County, to investigate a single vehicle injury collision.  Preliminary investigation revealed that Elizabeth Cockrell (36) of Roundhill, KY was operating a 2002 Mercury SUV and was traveling southbound when she lost control of her vehicle and exited the right shoulder of Region Road.  Cockrell’s vehicle then reentered the roadway and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to travel across Region Road before striking an embankment and overturning.

United Way's Day of Caring: Morgantown Mission & Butler County Library

Wednesday, July 26, 2017, marks United Way of Southern Kentucky’s ninth annual Day of Caring. Over 55 individuals volunteered at the Butler County Public Libary and the Morgantown Mission.

Single Vehicle Collision Results in Fatality

Bowling Green, KY (July 27, 2017)- At 5:27 PM,  Kentucky State Police, Post 3 Bowling Green responded to the William Natcher Parkway at the 20 mile marker to investigate a single vehicle injury collision.  Preliminary investigation revealed that Corey N. Millay (27), of Morgantown, KY was operating a 2005 Toyota passenger car and was traveling southbound when she exited the right shoulder of the roadway, striking an embankment.  Millay’s vehicle then reentered the roadway traveling across both lanes coming to final rest in the median of the Natcher Parkway.

Helping Hands Benefit Nets $3,681

Richland Baptist Church members Dana Pendley and Janesa Webster present check to Garry McKinney and Rachel Towe

On Saturday, July 22, several people came together at Butler County Middle School for a benefit for the Morgantown Mission Helping Hands fund, raising $3,681.  Organizer Janesa Webster said, “During our spring revival at Richland, I felt God calling me to do a community outreach project in our county.

Final Finish opens Bowling Green location

Final Finish has expanded their business to Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Ingram family purchased Southern Kentucky Collision Center in December of 2016 and took over the operation in January. A ribbon-cutting was held by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce on July 12th at the 2705 Pioneer Drive location.
The Ingrams purchased the business from Tony Willis, who will continue to manage the Bowling Green location, which currently has ten employees.
