Barren River Health Department: 154 COVID-19 Cases, 3 deaths in Butler County

The Barren River District Health Department has confirmed 154 cases of COVID-19 in the Barren River District, 31 of which have recovered. Our district has five deaths reported from COVID-19. We stand in solidarity with those affected during these difficult times. Please see the breakdown of numbers by county below.

The Barren River District Health Department has confirmed 136 cases of COVID-19 in the Barren River District, 31 of which have recovered. Barren County has six, Butler County has 45, Edmonson County has seven, Hart has one, Logan County has eight, Simpson County has 17, and Warren County has 52. Our district has three deaths reported from COVID-19. We stand in solidarity with those affected during these difficult times.

Magistrates go high-tech for their monthly meeting; approve plans to clean up four illegal dumps

Butler County Fiscal Court made history on Monday, April 13, by conducting their meeting over ZOOM, an online meeting platform.  Following the CDC guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic, each magistrate participated by video conference.

Brownsville Road shooting leads to arrest, attempted murder charge

On April 9, 2020, Butler County Sheriff's Department (BCSD) was dispatched to 11494 Brownsville Road about a shooting. BCSD Deputy Joe Alford and Morgantown Police Department Officer Jessie Burden responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Brenda Mahaney was lying on the ground.  She stated that Donald Renfrow shot her in the leg.
