Toys for Tots and TVA Partner to Launch 8 New Book Nooks in South Central Kentucky

Bowling Green, KY — September 29, 2025 — Toys for Tots of Southern KY, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to bringing hope to children, is proud to announce a partnership with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to open eight new Book Nooks in the South Central Kentucky region.

The Book Nook initiative creates welcoming spaces where children and families can access a variety of free books to foster a love of reading and lifelong learning. Stocked with age-appropriate, high-quality books, each nook is designed to encourage literacy development and provide families with opportunities to bond through reading.

Through TVA’s support, these eight new Book Nooks will be placed in high-traffic community locations throughout South Central Kentucky, including schools, community centers, and partner agenies. This investment underscores TVA’s commitment to strengthening communities, supporting education, and providing resources for families.

“We are thrilled to expand our Book Nook initiative with the support of TVA,” said local Toys for Tots Coordinator, Janel Doyle. “Together, we can give children across South Central Kentucky the tools and encouragement they need to dream big and achieve their goals through literacy.”

TVA representatives echoed that commitment: “TVA has a long history of supporting communities across the Valley, and we believe investing in education is one of the most impactful ways to make a difference,” said Jana Sublett, TVA Government and Community Program Manager. “Partnering with Toys for Tots, as well as, customer and community stakeholders to launch these Book Nooks reflects our mission of serving people and helping build brighter futures for children.”
