The Boys & Girls Club of Butler County held its Teen Center Banquet on Monday, December 18, at Cool Springs General Baptist Church.  

Morgantown, KY December 19, 2023 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Butler County announced that Karen Evans of Morgantown was elected to represent her Local Administrative Area (LAA) during the recent county committee election.

Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday, December 11, at the courthouse. All five magistrates were present.

Pacheco Alan Esquivel of 126 Logan Hunt Road, Morgantown, KY previously from 1513 Victoria Drive, Modesto, CA, Age 22 (Mexican National)

Charged with:

Trafficking in Marijuana over 5lbs, Class C Felony

 Benjamin Alexis Alicea of 126 Logan Hunt Road, Morgantown, KY Age 39

Charged with:

 Trafficking in Marijuana over 5lbs, Class C Felony

Morgantown Police responded to a call regarding a missing 15-year-old juvenile female from Florida reportedly lodged with a 26-year-old male in Morgantown, KY. Child Protective Services workers met with Morgantown Police at the reported residence, where they found the missing juvenile. The male subject was identified as Pedro Gomez, 26, of Morgantown, KY. Pedro Gomez admitted to going to her residence in Florida and taking her back to Morgantown without the consent of her guardian.

The Green River Museum honors someone who has impacted or preserved Butler County's history each year.  The 2023 Impact Award recognizes the late Howard Willis Vaughn.  A special presentation by Tommy Hines, Museum Director, and a reception was held in his honor on Sunday afternoon.

Hines shared the following: 

Howard Willis Vaughn was born in Rochester, Kentucky, on March 25, 1934—the son of Eldon Howard Vaughn and Amy Willis Vaughn.  Howard had two sisters, Billie Mae Jenkins and Carol Kemp, and one brother (who is still with us), Gene.
