Local government agencies receive grants to preserve local records Twenty-five local agencies receive nearly $575,000

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 5, 2019) - The Department for Libraries and Archives (KDLA) within the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet has announced 25 recipients of more than $575,000 of the Local Records Grant Program funds to preserve and manage local government records.

The Local Records Program helps to preserve, protect and make available records with continuing archival value and assist local agencies with records management through direct services, training and grant support.

Connie Embry retires after 48 years at the Butler County Public Library

Connie Embry has retired after 48 years of connecting patrons with books, videos, and whatever they sought from the Butler County Public Library.  

“I started in the days of this thing called the card catalog, and then we automated. But it's also been exciting to see the evolution of E-Books, and databases," Embry said.

January meeting a short one for magistrates

Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday, January 27th, at the Butler County Courthouse in the room behind Judge-Executive Tim Flener's office.  All fiscal court meetings have been moved to the room and the court approved the purchase of 15 matching chairs for the room, not to exceed $600. All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.
