January meeting a short one for magistrates

Butler County Fiscal Court met on Monday, January 27th, at the Butler County Courthouse in the room behind Judge-Executive Tim Flener's office.  All fiscal court meetings have been moved to the room and the court approved the purchase of 15 matching chairs for the room, not to exceed $600. All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.

Since Jailer Ricky Romans had updated the Butler County Jail Policy and Procedures, the court voted to table approval until they could review the changes. Romans asked the court to approve and clarify Anita Price's full-time position as of May 1st. They also approved an upgrade to the Butler County Jail Booking System.

The court accepted the Fifth District Fire Department treasurer's report.

In other business, the court approved a $638 quote from R & R to purchase a computer tower with a monitor for the judge's office.

The court will accept quotes for the following repairs and maintenance at the courthouse:

  • Removal of hallway wallpaper
  • Painting of hallway and foyer
  • Replacing of baseboards
  • Buffing of floors

The court approved the following:

  • Transfer of $10,000 from General Fund to E-911
  • Pay Rocky Tyree the difference in a Colonial Insurance payment of $33.99
  • Bills and transfers

The court went into closed session to discuss personnel. After returning to open session, they approved moving three part-time jail employees to full-time employees.
