The Butler County High School softball team held its 11th Annual softball camp last week - June 11-14 — at the field for girls ages 7-12. The 2012 camp had 24 girls attend — one of the largest in camp history.

On May 14th, the BCHS Girls and Boys Tennis Teams held their banquet to commemorate the 2012 season. With a packed crowd in the board meeting room at the Learning Center, a potluck meal was served and awards were given out.

Members of the Butler County Middle School Co-Ed Cheerleading Squad attended Cheer Camp June 7th-9th. At camp they learned new cheers, sidelines, dances, and new stunting techniques. They took all they learned and put it into a camp routine.

The Butler County 8U All-star team traveled to Auburn, Ky to play in the Western Kentucky Aces tournament last weekend. The boys kicked-off pool play Friday night playing games back to back.

Runners began gearing up for the Annual Green River Catfish Festival last Saturday with the running of the 31st Green River Road Race. 59 runners and 8 walkers participated in the road race.

If you have a child, ages 2-5 years old and want to be a part of a T-ball team, join the Butler County T-Ball and Tiny Tot T-ball teams! You may sign up anytime BEFORE July 3, 2012. There is a $30 fee per player and the fee is due no later than July 3.

The Butler County Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation held their annual JAKES Day last Saturday on the Haynes property in Leonard Oak. Over 120 kids participated in the fishing and shooting events. Several door prizes were given away and lunch was served.
