It took 11 heats featuring at total of 108 terrapins but when the dust had settled, terrapin #40 belonging to Kobe Annis came out on top and took home the $25 top prize.

The BC Girls Softball league wrapped-up their season last Friday with a pool party at the City Pool. Over 50 girls participated in the league this year on five different teams. Below are pictures of each team:

Butler County Little League 11-12 Year Old All-Stars were in Owensboro this week in tournament play. Butler County was defeated by Logan County but photographer Steve Smith was able to capture some great pictures.
There will be a team meeting for Middle School football players and parents at BCMS Gym On Monday, July 9th at 5:30 p.m. Players must have their physicals by this date or AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!

Twelve year-old Gage Ward, son of Scottie and Jamie Ward, played in the 2012 American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament in Cooperstown, New York, June 2nd through 5th. Ward played with his traveling team, the Western Kentucky Aces.

The BCHS Lady Bears Soccer team will be holding open practice sessions at the City Park on July 10th, 12th, and 13th at 6 pm each evening. Interested high school girls just need to wear comfortable clothes--t-shirt and shorts, and a good pair of sneakers if they don't have cleats.

The Butler County Little League season is now complete. The league had 14 teams this season ranging from Jr. Rookie to Major League. The All-Star teams representing each division are now in action.
