Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

Although it’s July, many have started making back-to-school plans. Being a grandmother, I have mixed emotions. School is certainly essential; but, I will miss the scheduling freedom my grandchildren have enjoyed for two months.

Cheryl Hughes: Relationship Counselor

People who think they’re going to keep others from making the same mistakes they themselves made just by telling others about their own situation and warning them not to go down the same path they took are delusional.  Nobody is going to listen to your warnings, not when it comes to personal relationships, anyway.  Nobody is going to listen for one reason and one reason only: everybody thinks their situation is different.

Jarrod Jacobs: The Priceless Word Of God

Do we know the value of God’s word? Many consider it worthless. Yet, those who are spiritually minded (I Cor. 1:18), and love the Lord, place great value upon God’s word. What makes the word of God priceless?

PHIL'S PHILOSOPHY By; D.P Kinkade Contributions By; Taylor & Drake Kinkade

DOUBT'S SHADOW: The other day I was watching television when a headline came across the bottom of the screen which disturbed me, quite a bit. The people on the show never discussed this particular news item, most people probably did not give it much more than a passing thought, if they thought about it at all (my wife says I am the only one she knows of whom even bothers to read the scrolling messages) but it perturbed me enough that I am still thinking about it a couple of days later so I would like to address the subject in this column.

Don Locke: Lookin Thru Bifocals

Floating Ax heads; Talking Donkeys, and Cool Furnaces…
The Bible prophets, Elisha was in Gilgal.  Some of the sons of the prophets told Elisha they wanted to go to the Jordan and enough timber there for them to build a new dwelling: “The place where we dwell with you is too small,” they complained. Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

This summer, my daughters and I have made walking a priority. We often walk twice a day (to break up the distance), trying to improve our health. I have noticed that I have to plan my other activities around the time used walking and showering. It is amazing how much time it takes for two rounds of walking, two showers and two times drying my hair. This has caused me to rethink my personal schedule.

Cheryl Hughes: Several Wrongs and A Right

On Saturday morning, I get a call from my husband, Garey, that the power outage from the night before has knocked our computer at New Image out of commission.  “The phone line is out also, and the computer is saying NO SIGNAL,” he says.  I tell him I’ll be right there, even though I was hoping to get the dishwasher loaded before work.
When I walk into the office, I find Garey under the desk with cords and surge strips in his hands.  The computer is quiet, the screen blank.  “Did you push the power button on the computer?”
    “What power button?” he says.
