Christine Bratcher: Creating Blessings, One Stitch At A Time

Morgantown, Butler County and the surrounding area are very blessed to have Andrea’s Mission and Mission for Men.

A group of ladies who are just a few of many who provide encouragement to the women at Andrea’s Mission are the women who provide the prayer shawls. Some of these women, Shelia Hunt, Christine Bratcher, Linda Pendley Beverly Hayes, Jessica Nielsen, Marilyn Nielsen and Elaine Daugherty recently worked on providing the shawls so that there will be more than enough for the women to choose from.

Jarrod Jacobs: "Why 99.9% Just Won't Do"

Is it truly necessary that we go for “zero defects” in things that we build, or in other areas of life? Why isn’t 99.9% defect-free good enough? Please look at the list below. According to Jeff DeWar, Quality Consultant at QCI International, this is what life would be like if things were correct or “defect-free” only 99.9% of the time.

If We Settle for 99.9%, We Have to Accept:
•    One hour of unsafe drinking water a month.
•    Two unsafe plane landings per day at O’Hare International airport in Chicago.

PHIL'S PHILOSOPHY By: D.P Kinkade Contributions by: Taylor & Drake Kinkade

IT IS WELL?- There were a couple of different titles floating around in my head for this particular column, before I finally settled on “It is well.” One of the titles considered was “Lazarus' Awakening,' the other one was “Colossus Tumbles.” Most of us are familiar with the tale of Lazarus being raised from the dead. The story of Lazarus' death reaching Jesus is the impetus for the shortest verse in the New testament, “Jesus wept.”

Debby Burden Lanham: View From My Lens

The early morning fog can play havoc on driving sometimes, but OH the beautiful pictures it sets up. On my way to work last week, I was fortunate enough to capture this beautiful scene set up by mother nature. In every situation, find the moment!

Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

Saturday, September 23, I travelled to the Crazy Horse Mustang show at Champion Ford in Owensboro, KY.  There were 122 registered Mustangs at the show.  There were Mustangs as far as the eye could see.  I always try to walk through and take pictures of each car.  There are always some moments of “have I taken a pic of this already?"
There were hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, dessert and drinks aplenty.  There was music and announcements blaring from the speakers.  And believe me, if you get too close, you will get blown out.  That might’ve happened to me several times.

Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

As I’ve said in years past, when the new fall television programming begins, I watch as many of the new programs as possible in order to select the ones I will continue to follow. During this timeframe, the DVR function gets a workout! And this week that process has begun.

"Old Chevy" by Cheryl Hughes

I’ve told my husband, Garey, if he passes away before I do, I will sell his nice green Chevy truck then use the money to restore his old 1990 red and white Chevy pickup.  The red and white truck has sat idle for the past year—it needs brakes and other important repair—and that’s grieving me.  I miss it.

Jarrod Jacobs: “That Ye May Believe …”

In the twentieth chapter of John, the inspired writer said, “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” (Jn. 20:30-31). Just prior to this statement, Jesus had told Thomas, “Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” (Jn. 20:29).

Debby Burden Lanham: View From My Lens

I don’t usually share family photos on here, but this was just too cute not to share. My husband has been working on lawnmowers (that I just continuously seem to tear up) and Saturday, our grandson Jaxon, decided Pappy couldn’t do it alone.
