Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

I’ve been thinking about Christmas shopping – planning my strategy. I enjoy giving gifts to my family, but dread the increased traffic as well as the number of people who will also be shopping. However, I do have a plan of action: get it done soon.

Don Locke: Lookin Thru Bifocals

November 6 :(As I write) -A day ago (November 5th) a mean man went into a church during Sunday morning service and murdered 26 people (women and children too) and sent most of the rest to the hospitals. This happened in the small town of Southerland, Texas not too far from San Antonio.

Cheryl Hughes: Joyful Chaos

We had the best time at our house this past week.  Sabria’s best friend, Jazz, spent the week with us.  It was reminiscent of the times my youngest daughter, Nikki, and her friends, Heather and Jessie, spent time here as children.  When little children get together, they create a sort of joyful chaos like no other.  They turn ordinary things into imaginary worlds or their own making.

Jarrod Jacobs: The Greatest Things Mother Can Do

Let us never underestimate the role and privilege God has afforded mothers. Many look down on what they consider the “1950’s” model of a wife and mother. Yet, God’s ideal of a godly wife and mother existed long before the “1950’s”! Read Proverbs 31:10-31, I Peter 3:1-6, Titus 2:3-5 and Ephesians 5:22-33. Though some women reject this, there are still women who wish to flourish in the role where God has placed them. This is refreshing to see. No, it is not a return to “1950’s values”, but a return to godly values that is needed.

Today's Miracle Photography- 19 Minutes Turns Into A Miracle

19 MINUTES TURNS INTO A MIRACLE-As any expectant mommy, Abby Lynn was so excited to be planning the birth of her first child. The pregnancy had been going well, and everything was in line for her to have her baby girl, Addilyn Hutcheson. But in the blink of an eye, as we all know it can, her world changed. At 33 weeks pregnant, on March 15, 2016, Abby Lynn ended up in the emergency room with difficulties with the pregnancy. While being examined by the nurses, it became very clear that there was something happening that was causing them not to be able to find the baby's heartbeat.

PHIL'S PHILOSOPHY By: D.P Kinkade Contributions by: Taylor & Drake Kinkade

WORKS WELL WITH OTHERS-I am not sure if they still do it or not in the primary grades, for it has been a while since I really looked but I remember clearly, from my youth, where other considerations were remarked upon, on the report cards we received, other than what letter of the alphabet it was determined we deserved. One of those considerations was if you had the ability to, “work well with others.”

Senator C.B. Embry's Legislative Update

The leaves fell and the weather grew cooler as we transitioned into this blustery November. As Thanksgiving quickly approaches, the Legislature continues to hold Interim Joint Committee meetings throughout the Commonwealth and in Frankfort.

Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

I haven’t discussed NASCAR in depth in one single column this year.  That ends here.  Sunday is a huge day for NASCAR fans.  It’s Championship Sunday.  We’ve gotten down to NASCAR’s equivalent of the Final Four: Martin Truex, Jr, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch and Brad Kesoloswki.

Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

Since Thanksgiving is near, I’ve been considering some things for which I’m thankful. I’m always thankful for God’s many blessings, including family and friends. I’m also thankful for our great country and for our freedom..

What did they do after they came home?  The veterans of war...what did they take-up as a means of livelyhood as it were.. Ill try to share with you one that I know. With veterans day coming up I’m hoping to get this to you on time. I’m asking my editor to stick me in at the head of the line of those bifocals I’ve already turned in. I’ll start with World War Two and my hometown - Greenville, and DON POTTER.
