SENATOR C.B. EMBRY’S LEGISLATIVE UPDATE Independence Day: A Celebration of Freedom & Unity

Since the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, the Fourth of July has been observed as a day for patriotism and unity. It is on this day that exemplary visionaries dared to create a new form of government for a new people — a country in which freedom reigned. Andy Sullivan: Against the Grain

Ten years ago this week, Tuesday to be exact, two pretty important events occurred in the life of this then 30 year-old.  I was on the way to my final college class-which was really a dinner, as we’d already finished all our coursework.  I can’t recall exactly where we ate.  It’s been a decade so it might not even be there anymore.

Many who believe it “taboo” to talk about religious matters will say words to the effect, “You do what you want to do and I’ll do what I want to do in religion.” Once the conversation turns to religious matters, some will cut you off saying words to the effect, “Just stop right there, I’m satisfied with what I have!” Friends, what does this say about people’s attitudes?
