Synergy By Cheryl Hughes

One morning last week, I walked into the bedroom to wake Garey for work.  When he rolled over, I noticed a few objects on the sheet that he didn’t ordinarily sleep with.

“Garey, you slept with your wallet and…fifty…seventy-five…one dollar and eleven cents in change,” I counted out loud.

Jarrod Jacobs: "The Bible Has Lies In It"

Does the title above surprise you? Would it surprise you to learn that when said in its proper context, the above statement is true? I realize some folks say this in an effort to denounce the Bible. This is obviously not my purpose. However, when we spend time reading and studying God’s word, it will not take long before we notice several lies recorded for us in the Bible. Let us study a few examples together and make some applications.

PHIL'S PHILOSOPHY BY; D.P. KINKADE CONTRIBUTIONS BY; TAYLOR & DRAKE KINKADE

GIVE ME LIBERTY-Patrick Henry is attributed with the famous and perhaps infamous quote, (at least at the time he made it,) “Give me liberty or give me death!” As a youth, someone once told me that this statement was made by Mr Henry while facing the choice of remaining loyal to a controlling country from across the sea, or execution and that Patrick had chose the latter rather than live in a

Patty Craig: A Slice of Time

The 4th of July reminds me of my freedom. Coretta Scott King said, “Freedom is never really won, you earn it and win it in every generation” (https://www.brainyquote.com/topics/freedom). While ‘freedom’ may mean something different to each of us, I think of freedom as being able to take reasonable action without fear of punishment.

No Bull by Cheryl Hughes

Recently, we had one of those days at work that can happen only in a small town.  A bull escaped from the nearby Heritage Animal Hospital.  It led to a sequence of events that was quite entertaining for me, but not for the bull or the people responsible for capturing him before he could cause bodily harm or property damage.

Jarrod Jacobs: Two Lions

There are two lions that figure very prominently in the Bible. In fact, not only do we read about these lions in the Bible, but we are also affected by these two lions each day. When studying the Bible, we see that these two lions are polar opposites, continually fighting against one another. Specifically, they are fighting over us. As a result of their conflict, we are also affected.
