We find the above title in Luke 18:13. In this text, we read a parable the Lord spoke to those who “trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others” (Lk. 18:9). This parable was about a Pharisee and publican (tax collector) who went to the Temple to pray to God (Lk. 18:10-13). The Pharisee spoke to God as if bragging about how great he was, but the publican merely said, “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Christ said that the publican was the one who was justified rather than the Pharisee (Lk. 18:14).
The world is continuing to learn more about the COVID-19 pandemic with each passing day. As your State Senator, I am proud to see how Kentuckians are responding. Even while implementing safety precautions such as “social distancing” that physically keep us apart, we are pulling together like never before in order to fight this invisible enemy.
