We find the above title in Luke 18:13. In this text, we read a parable the Lord spoke to those who “trusted in themselves that they were righteous and despised others” (Lk. 18:9). This parable was about a Pharisee and publican (tax collector) who went to the Temple to pray to God (Lk. 18:10-13). The Pharisee spoke to God as if bragging about how great he was, but the publican merely said, “God be merciful to me a sinner.” Christ said that the publican was the one who was justified rather than the Pharisee (Lk. 18:14).
The world is continuing to learn more about the COVID-19 pandemic with each passing day. As your State Senator, I am proud to see how Kentuckians are responding.
